Hello there, I've got two games coming up in the next few weeks, one is against IG with a mix of blob squads and tanks/aircraft, and the second is against SM with blood angel allies. The points cap will be 2500 and I currently have 2000 as shown below:

HQ

Draigo

Coteaz

Troops

10 Paladins - 2 Nemesis Daemon Hammers, 1 Staff, 1 Apothecary, 2 Psycannons (Master Crafted), 7 Halberds, 7 Storm Bolters, Psybolt Ammunition.
10 Warrior Acolytes + 2 Jokaero Weaponsmiths - 7 Boltguns, 3 Melta Guns, Carapace Armour.
9 Psykers + 3 Crusaders.
8 Death Cult Assassins + 3 Crusaders.

Heavy Support

Nemesis Dreadknight - Heavy Incinerator, Nemesis Force Sword, Personal Teleporter.
Dreadnought - 2 Twin-Linked Autocannons, Psybolt Ammunition.

I have two ideas in mind, although I welcome any further ideas people think will work better. The first is a techmarine with conversion beamer, a second dreadnought as shown above and a stormraven with added hurricane bolters and psy ammo.

The second idea is a big blob of IG, Command squad with platoon command squad, about 4 squads of 10 infantry and 50 conscripts.

Would be happy to hear feedback on what would be the best choice against the armies I'm facing as said above, thanks!

well what I would do is get some transportation for the warbands :/

I agree. Transport, you need it. A storm raven or two would be great, or even just go rhinos if losing 1st blood doesn't matter to you.

My question is. Is Draigo + 10 Paladins better than 20 Terminators? For the points you are sinking into that, I think you would be better served by taking 2 terminator units instead. It gives you an extra troop choice and a boat load of S5 shots.

Thanks for the replies, I'm guesing a razorback would be best? Also Draigo + 10 palas has worked really well for me so far, sure you get less shots but they can take a boat load of gak being thrown at them.

Vehicles don't grant first blood because they are not removed as casualty.

Indeed, you're completely right. I think it's ridiculous that blowing up a tank on the 1st turn doesn't count toward 1st blood, but it seems I'll be changing the way I play (well, what I shoot at 1st won't change...)

So you like playing a big bad-a$$ unit of 10. So if you want where to spend your extra 500. Why not take 2 5 man paladin units (or god forbid) 2 5 man units of terminators to support them? That would give you 2 extra troop choices to control exposed objects also two very tough to crack units a far as first blood risks or the ability of the enemy to knock off objectives. Especially when there is a 10-man/Draigo unit generally in range.

or take a 10 man terminator unit with psybolt ammo and combat squad them
