So this is my version of Lysander.
It's basically on the size of a Daemon Prince base, and its quite bulky as well. The wings at the back basically stick out a bit from the back of the base, so the size is definately much larger than normal - possibly even larger than a Daemon Prince.
The fluff behind this is that he is the Primarch for this legion (one of the lost legions, mutated beyond recognition), so that's why he's larger than normal.
What do you guys think? Is it too much to use? Especially at a tournament? I was planning to take him to Throne of Skulls.

It depends. If your opponent is shooting at someone behind the wings, will you claim a cover save? Will you claim cover for vehicles when they are behind him? If so, then definitely modelling for advantage. If not, you should be ok.
By the by, its pretty cool.

Nah i'm ignoring all that, the wings are "invisible" for all game purposes, and if the height is an issue, ill uphold any requests my opponents have regarding cover saves and who is (or isnt) getting them.
Glad you like it! There are more pics of the army here btw if you are interested:

In that case you are gaining no advantages really, base size I guess, but that could just as easily work against you in terms of people getting into contact to use MSS and what not, so I can't see it being an issue at all, just clear the model with the TO incase they think the conversion is too hard to follow.

Isn't Lysander supposed to be a Space Marine? This guy looks more like a Lizardman.
The model looks nice though.

It is an army that uses the Space Marine codex, however, they are not your "normal" Space Marines.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

As far as tournys go, youll probably be shot down, but still, thats up to the organizer. As far as playing normal games, the cons far outweigh the pros as far as size goes, so Id say your good

I doubt he'll get shot down.
Rule of Cool for one,
Wings are ignored for LoS purposes,
And having a larger base opens up more disadvantages then advantages so its a wash. And in Lysander's case he really gains nothing from a larger base.

I've been called for less. My truescale army wasn't allowed to compete in a tournament once, even though the larger bases presented a massive disadvantage to my army (deepstriking blood angels).

isn't this part of a space marine army? I do not think you are going to have trouble considering there isn't a deamon prince in the space marine codex. did you finally turn your lizard men over to the dark side?

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. I think to be on the safe side I will bring a terminator base just to use if my opponent has a canary.
Fyi the lid is made from a paint lid (dunno where I got the idea for that!!!) and the base model is a kroxigor. The chapter is the "Star Dragons", hence the lizard appearance. Mutated, but still loyal!
