I'm looking for a good Great War Rules Set.

I fell in love with the sculpts from Renegade miniatures, and if I get a bunch of their figs, I would like some excellent rules to go with it. Stipulations being it can cover both early and late war, and somewhere in the 50ish or more figs a side. Maybe something in the squad level skirmish? Oh, and be able to cover rules for arty and cav if possible. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Travis

Going on E-Bay and trying to find a copy of The Great War by the now dead Warhammer Historical Range might be your best bet. It is what my club uses for there WW1 games which look pretty impressive. : http://tgwc.forumotion.co.uk/t75-wwi-pictures (Im slightly biased but... )

If not there is:

To the Last Man (TtLM) by Chris Peers is a good D20 system that covers Cav and off table arty for you. Spanning games of 10-80 models per player, roughly. It can be bought at Northstar, and its what me and my friends use for our WW1/Interwar/Steampunk wargames.

Many and varied forces in progress according to waxing & waning whims.

I may never finish an army in my life.

I do enjoy mud and blood. The rules are really loose, so you need to be friendly with the other player, and an umpire would be ideal. It's well worth taking a look at! What are you thinking of using as minis?

The great war book is a lot like 40k ww1. I own the book, but have yet to play a game of it.

Renegade Miniatures really caught my attention for minis. Just seem like gorgeous sculpts, and the line has a little bit of everything.

Those minis are really nice! I have their early war french. The only problem with their line is that there is quite a bit of flash on them. They definitively are worth it though. It's not bad to look at 1/72 scale minis. I picked up some pegasus late war french and some ceasers late war germans and I am impressed on the detail of the sculpts for the price. There really isn't a good late war British sculpts for 1/72, and watch out for the manufacturer hat. Their plastic is too soft to really glue or paint. Best of Luck!
