I was in my local Lidl yesterday and noticed that they are selling a compressor set that seems to (judging by the box) be aimed at the hobby market. No idea what its like but it is cheap; £39.95. It may also come with a single action airbrush. Going back when I've got more time to have a look.

As I haven't a clue about airbrushes being skint over the years, if anyone can shed any light on if this any good for the money they are asking for, please let me know.

As long as you are only going to use it in short bursts it'll be fine, a long time spraying and i suspect the compressor will conk out. The duty cycle will be minimal, something like 15minutes on, 1 hour off, but obviously you will not be spraying continuously for 15 minutes so it should work out. A desk fan pointed at the compressor to keep it cool might help too.

I would say the actual airbrush itself is probably rubbish but it looks to have a standard fitting so you can fit a nicer one. Just think of it as a cheap compressor kit.

I should add: I've bought similar products to this from Lidl before, so I am speaking from experience.
