Having got back from games day on SUnday I set about trying to improve my painting skills to push forward and hopefully compete better in next years golden demon, I'm fairly set in the ways that I paint but I realise that I need to develop significantly in order to improve enough. With that in mind I set aside my Khornate Blood Slaughterer walker that I picked up on the day as the first (of many) daemon engines I will be painting up for practice (and possible use). I've used more dry brushing and wet blending on this model than I normally would (my go-to is layering and edge highlighting) and think its going well so far but would love for some critique:

And to round this out I also have a question on usability, I am loathed to purchase IA for the rules for one model and so hoped to run this as one of the new similarly sized fiend daemon enginges for chaos, I intend to magnetise the arms to switch between the two types but wondered if the fact that it is recognisably a forgeworld model of a different type might cause confusion?

Cheers for any help as always.

As long as it has the right weapon load out I dont see it being an issue, I was thinking of doing the same thing.

Mount it on a large oval base and tell people what you're using it as and I don't foresee anyone having a problem with it.

Using it as one of the new forgefiend models that are coming out would be perfect.
