Looking for some quick input for my Ariadna starter box. I have been painting up my Line Kasaks and have been doing a pretty basic color scheme using my Flames of War German Infantry colors. They look pretty good and I think it gives them a nice frontier soldier look.

My main concern is how to extend that to the rest of the models, like the Metros and other troops. I don't think I would like the colors to be the same for all of them, since they are distinct. But I am thinking about keeping some of the colors the same. Something like using the Fieldgrey that I am using on the jackets for the Kasaks, and using that on the pants for the Metros (as an example). Not using the same colors in the same parts, but keeping some of the same colors on different pieces of cloth (to maybe simulate that they only had certain options for making uniforms).

Input?

As for my army, no two models have the same color if they're not of the same type (Ghulams, Odalisques). I tie them together with basing: make the bases consistent. Or at least have a splash color that is present on all models (in my case, red).

By having one or two colors through them all it helps to "tie" them together. It can also be the base. If you do a certain base type it helps to make them a bit more together. Even just having the guns all the same color helps.

Cool. Very realistic colors.
