A while back I spotted some clear acrylic templates on the Spartan website and in the rule book. I was unable to purchase any from Spartan. So drew up some plans and sent them for fabrication.

My design.

The finished product

I have a bunch more photos on my blog but I am having trouble linking them here.

The raised edge acts as a nice guide to aid in the turning of the models.
Being transparent allows you to see the position of the other models in a squadron to avoid possible collisions.
There are a bunch of other suppliers of similar templates but they didn't look very steampunk.
I am super proud of my design. and I think they look cooler than the cardboard ones.
If I did up another set I would change the design of the 45deg turning template perhaps make the top edge 1''
and add some cogs and gears.

I am also thinking of getting some transparent movement trays for my tiny flyers made up.
Dose any one else have any experience or ideas for laser cut goodies?

They will be selling them. The ones on show are early goodies for getting the "final" version of the Uncharted Seas rules (basically hardback+FAQS), so their templates should be showing up withing a ffew months, If you havnt realised they're supporting 5 different games lol, so they show things off months in advance.

Still good job on the cuts, they look great, especially the firing arc one (??) (though i still prefer to leave the turrets loose and use that to get the arc just feels nicer). Dont think they're doing an arc one themselves, but there IS a a fixed channel marker i think.

As for TF trays, several people on the spartan community do them out of plasticard and mark them "fighter" "bomber" etc

GENERATION 9: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Spartan are crazy busy with all there product lines. And they do supply tokens & templates in there boxes sets. I would have liked to given them my money and got a professionally designed acrylic template set. Instead of designing one myself, getting quotes and having it fabricated.

I magnetise all my turrets so when I line up my dred for a broadside it looks cool. Also it allows me to swap our turrets for generators.
