Prompted by Nerdfest's painting competition I dug out my Dark Vengeance cultists to look for a squad leader, since my attention span waxes and wanes depending on what I'm painting I managed to finish my squad leader within two days and thoroughly enjoy it. This led me to want to painting (and therefore convert) the rest off the chaos in the box. Given that I have a tonne of spare forge world renegade arms I intend to not have any doubles of the miniatures in poses from the box.

Thus far I have my competition piece finished:

Looking great, but (this is a big but) try and fix the static-ness of the models, it'd go a long way.

Veteran Sergeant wrote:In the grim darkness of the far future, the guy with a rifle is the weakest man on the battlefield, left to quake in terror, hoping the two or three shots he gets do the job before somebody runs screaming across the battlefield to hit him with an energized stick.

The regular head that goes on the top one was awful. Now he looks like a commissar that lost his mind completely. The other dude looks like he's pissing in a guardsman's helmet. Whether or not that is what you were going for it's cool.

I prefer to think the second guy was making some kind of crude humping gesture into the helmet while firing his rifle into the air. The pinnacle of cultist discipline

And I agree the head on the original leader wasn't the best in the world, had to replace it.

Johnno M > I'm working on getting more of a "running/shooting" vibe into some of the other models.
