I dont know about the wording in the ba codex but in the grey knight codex there is a paragraph on the stormraven page that discribes whats happening to a cybot "passenger" during a explosion result of the flyer : a single s4 hit to his back
Does this rule "override" the s10 ap1 hit thats normally passed on to passengers of exploding flyers ?

Yes, it does. The dreadnought suffers a hit as described in the Codex unless it has been errata'd or faq'd.

Codex overrides the rule book every time unless specifically mentioned.

Forever a pone.

Sort of: That note is rules-text describing what happens to the dreadnought it's carrying (if any) if the stormraven happens to explode.

So it'd overrule the effects of the strength 10 AP 1 hit for the dreadnought itself in that specific instance, but not the other passengers (if any) that happen to be in the stormraven.

Thematically I can understand the difference, getting dropped out of the back of the ship rather then being crushed in the fuselage would be far less dangerous.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

K good to know
I kinda dislike using the stormraven as a transport for termis/paladins because of the new explosion rules for flyers but its nice that it can still transport a cybot relatively safe
