I have read several discussion threads on the topic of the prices of minis going up. Are these people thinking that the rest of us missed the fact that this stuff is expensive? Right now, I am looking at the Troll booklet from a 3e starter box. Chaos battle force for $129, a metal dreadnought $32? Tjose prices reallt have spiked since 1998... actually, not really.

I missed out on Warhammer when I was younger, due to cost and time constraints. Now that I have more money, I play Warhammer. If something is expensive, I save for it. I try and only buy the units I need. The price increases really haven't affected this strategy too much. Why is this so complicated?

We all know Warhammer, Warmachine, model airplanes, R/C, etc. are expensive. Thanks for the memo. If we didn't enjoy them, we'd being doing something else to waste our time.

The major complaints don't stem from the fact that minis are pricey/

They come from the fact that GW minis are overcosted compared to other companies who make equal or better sculpted models and in a better material IE: plastic or metal vs Finecast resin garbage.

If other companies can afford to sell for less so can GW. Thats the argument.

Hey its this thread again!

Welcome back!

Yes they are all pricey, but GW takes the top when 1 model that takes up a very very small portion of the army.

Vendetta - $66 for 120pts 6% of the points in a 1850pt army

vs

Stormwall $120 36% of the points in a 50pt army

Takes $396 for a vendetta to equall the 1 model for Warmachines points value of an army..

ouch..

1850pts....50pts... seem about the equivlent to me.

As you say this discussion is already taking place in several threads, and frankly has already been beaten to death. I fail to see how opening a new thread to complain about complaining, which of course, creates more complaining, is adding anything lol.

Cheers, MT11
