due to the changes on acute senses special rule im curious is it really worthwhile having in the wolf codex? as far as i can see only scouts can outflank ... please do tell me if there is more than this... and let's face it in a 1000 point game scouts arent always the perfect troop choice.
also my mate has my 6th ed book so im curious as to what changed with the grenades ...
Thanks!

I don't know much about the Space Wolves, so I can't help you much there. Acute senses relies on arrival on a random table edge. I don't know who has that in the SW's army.
As far as grenades go, they're throwable. Each time a unit shoots, you can nominate one model to throw a grenade.
Your standard assault grenade is 8'' range, 3S AP-, assault 1, Blast.
EDIT: Assault grenades ALSO do what they did last edition as well.

Wolf Scouts have Operate Behind Enemy Lines when they outflank which when combined with Acute Senses practically guarantees your Wolf Scouts will show up where you want them.
Wolf Scouts are not Troops in the SW codex.
Saga of the Hunter gives the Outflank USR to an IC.

That and Wolf Priest and Wolf Guard Battle Leader can take Saga of the Hunter, so them and the unit they join can outflank.

wolf priest with saga, joint onto a squad of scouts, spell to make for example all troop choices preferred enemy for priest and scouts....outflank behind them.... is this a good idea? could i pull it off against another marine list or necrons?

Independent Characters are models like Wolf Lords, Rune Priests, Space Marine Captains, and so on. Units (usually HQs) that can join other units and break off as they please.
Wolf Scouts got a little bit of a nerf with the change to outflanking. Previously, they could charge in off the rear table edge when they outflanked. I used this to good effect in 5th, and I'd ideally have them come in behind an enemy fire support unit and charge them. They're still useful as both a backfield threat and an armor-hunting squad though. I've always given them as much plasma and melta as they could carry and had them go hunting for rear armor.

This is the direction I went with, Plasma Guns, Plasma Pistols and Bolt Guns. I can usaly get a Vehicle with 12" coming on and the Plasma will do a number on the side armor. I usaly add a WGBL and WGPL with a Combi-Meltas and Power Fist for the heavy stuff, that an Melta Bombs.

no i mean do you mean independant characters lol, it had 2 options when i scrolled over so i was getting a check up on that.
would it be worthwhile tank hunting with a priest joining them though? with preferred enemy against heavy support...? Automatically Appended Next Post: what do you guys think ?

Yea you could have him join the Scouts. Or you could have the wolf priest join a full pack of Grey Hunters which would allow them to Outflank.
As was mentioned, the only downside now is that you cannot assault coming in now.

i dont beleive i could take him with a pack of grey hunters as they cannot take a saga of the hunter and the wolf priest does not allow the saga to be with a group he is attached to as well, only reason he could do this with the scouts is because they have outflank already.

If even one model in a unit has the ability to Outflank, then the whole unit can do it. The issue with this is that normally only units with Scout or Infiltrate get to Outflank, Saga of the Hunter changes that.

Its the other way around you take saga of the hunter and the IC passes the out flank rule not the saga to the unit he leads.
Page 6 of the space wolf FaQ:
Q: Does a character with Saga of the Hunter pass on his Outflank and Stealth special rules to a unit he joins before deployment? (p64)
A: Yes.
So you can legally put a wolf priest with some wolf guard terminators and have the squad outflank into your enemy's flank.
