Glad do see some arms with tools and cases.

Not glad to not see a flamer and grenade launcher.

The RPG is the grenade launcher, which is better than the flamethrower not being included within any of the three sets (super disappointed about that). The other glaring problem is that there are no close combat weapons. Even one or two would have helped represent the few crew who use such weapons.

If you go back to page 15 and look at the Mercs sprue, you'll see one left arm with a knife, and a left hand with knife. So it's not zero CC weapons, but a paltry two per Mercs sprue (eight for the box), and zero variety. I'd have expected a nightstick or crowbar in the mix.

As for the Flamethrower, apparently you'll have to buy the metal figure, if you don't have plastic bits. Or get the Frostgrave Cultist Sci-fi bits; which have 1 flamethrower, 1 grenade launcher, and a fair assortment of melee weapons, plus assorted pistols and longarms. But still one expects that with 3 kits at launch that it would be possible to build all the crew and specialist options with the plastic sets. Sure, put the flamethrower and grenade launcher in the Troopers box as that kit will probably be used to make the 100 credit Specialists who use such weapons, but they would be there.

Now I'm not bothered, as I do have a good assortment of bits (and two of each specialist painted [Burner and Grenadier]), but other potential players may not be as well provided, and might expect that all the options were included.

The central figure in the picture below has a flamethrower, while the figure to his right has the grenade launcher. Both are from the Frostgrave Cultist Sci-fi bits sold by Northstar, and are resin. The pistol the snakeman is holding is also from the same set.

I will wait until the stuff reaches my FLGS. They could certainly use the sales.

Oh those Black Scorpion pirates are NICE.

But I already have a backlog of Reaper pirates to keep me busy.

I did notice that Brigade USA has the Rogue Stars guys separately including ones that are not in the Nick Starter so that's probably how I'll go. A Stargrave order + some Rogue Star characters.

Yes, you need to be careful when adding the Rogue Star pack to your order as they seem to have taken 1 model out of most of the existing packs so if you later decide to complete the collection you will end up duplicating what you have already purchased. I plan to cherry pick a couple of Rogue Star packs for that reason rather than buy the bundle (which unfortunately means they wont be added to the Nickstarter total).

So yeah in for "just" $100. Rules, crew set, and some stray Rogue Stars guys I've wanted for a while.

Plus whatever bonuses I get.

And that’s the mystic I want ticked off.
Next is a take it or leave it (obviously I’ll take it!)

Not updated on the page I have a link to though.
Still says 29k or so?

2 women heads (1 on the left and 1 on the right) for the Trooper box looks like they were ported from the Wizards 2 from the Frostgrave range.

I just pledged for a book and box deal. Played a lot of frostgrave some years ago and tried to like rogue stars, I have loads of minis to use for stargrave.

Just need to get a few people interested in this.

Do we know which mystic is which spend goal? I'm really hoping the Mssr. Mouth there is the one we just unlocked.

Everything else on the spend goal graphic is roughly in the correct order reading downwards so that would make Dr. Teeth there the unlocked Mystic. I'm positive we'll unlock them all though before this is done

From a strictly WYSIWYG and ruleset perspective, a "knife" is different from a "hand weapon," and with three kits upon release it's disappointing that not a single hand weapon other than a knife was included. I'm also disappointed about the exclusion of the flamethrower since I was looking forward to kitbashing flamethrower crewmen (so the metal version won't fit the bill), and the cultist upgrade kit has a different aesthetic from the other kits. Frankly, the Trooper kit should have included all special weapons and a couple of hand weapons.

Yeah it's not ideal that across 3 boxes we get two special weapons that are functionally the same and none of the others.

The choice of weapons on the plastic frames are definitely a bit weird. I can live with it, I have a big bits box, but they're definitely far from optimal.

Depends how well the Guardsmen arms fit on for most of my bits.
I’ve got loads of marine weapons though as to which would be the right size I don’t know..

They're not very KKK in reality, they've lots of bulky stitches on them and look like they're made of thick burlap type stuff rather than thin cloth

Yeah I carefully paint mine to clearly show hand-sewn leather serial killer hoods rather than the KKK look.
