Well, she is killer robot with the stolen memories of a dead child. She probably didn’t need the blade apart from not getting acid on her cold dead hands.
Just like in Aliens where Vasquez's antique custom S&W is a 9mm, exactly the same calibre as Gorman’s H&K9 mm. Her sidearm is highly effective, while Gorman's 9mm is not.
