ok we have a ruin with a base, i have model on the ground floor obscured by the ruin and in area terrain. I have the model go to ground. Area terrain rules say it gains +2 cover save instead of 1. My best save is 4+ from the ruin, so does the +2 from GTG affect ALL my cover saves or just the area terrain save? bascially making my model 2+ sover save

Seems the GTG bonus is given because you are in Area Terrain. If you are also obscured 25+% by the ruin, you would get the 4+ CS AND the GTG bonus for 2+.

Seems like it, makes sense too. The safest part of a ruin, for LoS purposes, would be the ground floor. It would be like layers of walls and bits of ruined building rather than a one wall.

Yep, looks like you get a +2 to whatever cover save you have, so 3+ for being in Area Terrain and 2+ for 25% obscured by Ruins.
