Further to the ongoing 3d discussions there have been some more updates.

The BBC had another story this morning on their website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-19818815

... and now The Sun has this: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4571547/Worlds-first-affordable-3D-printer-goes-on-sale.html

At the price The Sun is quoting, that isn't really that expensive and they will only come down in price from this point.

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

This is really low lech stuff, but it's nice to see them having some practical application for it, and a means of production.

This kind of thing was on the horizon about ten years ago, but I think the costs of production sort of made it a losing investment. Very cool. Makes me want to buy some toys!
