I know it's generally agreed that having to deploy fortification before other terrain is possibly not the best rule in the book, but give that's what we have to do....

What's the latest thinking on getting your fortification in an effective position? Does it change if your are deploying 1st or 2nd?

Do you commit GBH on your opponent if he sticks a hill in front of your ADL?

Best tactics: don't bother bringing fortifications if you're using the book method. It's just too easy to negate a fortification with terrain, unless you roll a 1 for terrain density or your opponent feels like being nice to you that quad gun is never going to be able to see anything. Though I suppose you could take advantage of this and buy the ADL to protect a "home" objective, so that your opponent's hill cuts off line of sight even more and makes the unit sitting on that objective harder to kill.
