Firstly I would just like to say a big hello, its taken me a while to register but I have been reading the forums and batreps for some time.

My Name is Nicky McCormack, I am from Leeds/Bradford in the UK and I collect Ultramarines. I played Fantasy around 15 years ago but last year, having made my way through about 15 Horus Heresy books I decided to take the plung and dive into the world of 40k! I bought Assault on black reach, a box of terminators, 2 more tactical squads, an Ironclad Dred and a pack of Stearnguard vets. I have since bought Marneus Clagar and the new finecast termi librarian. I am working at getting all my mini's painted and after over a year I am still only half way there.... also due to work commitments and not knowing anyone who plays I have yet to have my first game. a few weeks ago I was in GW buying some paints.... there was this Giant of a man sat there boring his eyes into me... now only being a little fella I have a sligh case of "short man syndrome" so I turned on my heals about to ask what this guy was staring at.... I spun around and was faced with a 7"+ Nurgle looking brute... but I knew that youthful looking face... after a monents silence he spoke... "is that you Nicky lad???" MARK!!!! This guy was a close friend of mine over 15 years ago but a house move had meant we lost contact! we got chatting, changed numbers and have had a few painting sessions together and this week will see our first battle! Now this guy is a talented painter and does wonderful conversions but didn't have a game board as for the last 15 years he has simply collected and painted mini's... meaning he has several 4000+ point armies! we have clubbed in and bought the GW gameboard pieces and are making some buildings and ruins.... I can't wait for tomorrow!

Although I have not played I have spent many months learning rules and studying my codex... I also have watched or read hundreds of battle reports so my tactical mind is fairly sound... or at least I think it is... we shall see!

Anyhooo sorry for the long post but it just feels good to be finally communicating with other gamers rather than just watching them on youtube lol.

1st, you should try to get in touch with the 11th Company, (They are on FB and Dakka somewhere). They are a bunch of gamers from the leeds area and I am hoping to join their ranks when and if I move to the area later this year. So thats also me to play...
