Does slow and purposeful give the lootas the ability to move and shoot their heavy weapons if the big mek with mega armor joins their group?

they can move and shoot at full BS instead of snap fire because the mega armor character confers slow and purposeful

they however cannot fire overwatch, or run.

hmmm could be interesting but i think it would be a waste of an HQ unless you drove around in a battle wagon shooting maybe haha

Oklahoma City

some people use a megaboss with lootas for mobility and to soak up small arms fire with his 2+ by having him in front.. then LOS'ing the lascannon shots to lootas etc.

Also gives quite a bit of protection to your backfield from deepstriking assaulty-things etc...

but yeah, I think it's kind of a waste too.

Ayup. It's really not super useful, though mega armor ics standing in front of your orks is excellent right now. I've been playing with it a lot.

Lootas, though, really don't need to move much with 48" range. Plop em down in cover or go to town, or else stick em in a bw.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

You question has been answered already.
My question is though is why not spend the points of the mek for more lootas?
The main advantage of the mek is the bosspole

Also going to ground and shooting aeroplanes you will be snap firing anyway.

The best advice is to find better gunlanes and use the rest of your army to direct them into their sights, so you do not have to move them.

Yes you can. This one is actually a bit more useful as according to the artillery rules, wounds against an artillery unit, are taken at the T of the gun which is 7. So youd be able to move and shoot artillery, with T7 2+ save.
