Quick question:

If a flyer is not listed in the back of the BRB or in a newer codex, is it considered a FW model and thus requires permission/notification before using it?

I ask this as the BRB has no fliers for Eldar and I was considering grabbing IA:Aeronautica and using the Nightwing to help with dealing with a bastard Valkyrie that appears in nearly every game above 1500 points.

Last question: Is the Nightwing really a viable craft? I looked up the stats for it and 2 shuri cannons and 2 BL don't bring much firepower to the table for nearly 200 points. Is it cheaper in IA:Aero or does it have a different configuration?

Basically you will want to look at the updated rules for FW, available in PDF from from their website. If it has a green-ish "Warhammer 40,000" Stamp on it, than you can play it in 6th Edition. If it does not have this, than you would have to get permissions before playing it (I always get permission for FW models anyway).

As for the viability of the craft, sorry I don't know the rules offhand to tell you. However it does sound like it's a bit weak.

Note however, that per IA Aeronautica, even if it is approved for regular games, they still recommend getting your opponents permission.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

FW basically doesn't require opponents consent, but it reccomends it.

And of course your opponent can dump the game for any reason whatsoever. They can leave because you play GKs, because you smell, because your girlfriend is distracting, becaue you're a Raiders fan, because there is a medical emergency, because you are wearing a stupid shirt, because your socks don't match, because you are using Forge World rules, because you painted your army Hot Pink, etc...

While it's not terribly hard hitting vs ground units, it is a good interceptor/anti-flyer vehicle. better maneuverability (w/ 2 90 degree turns per move) and a constant 5+ cover w/out jinking it's not a bad choice at all, esp given some of the eldar Fast attack options.

yeah it also gets a 2+ when Jinking i think, or at least a 3+. best AA in the game. Their other flyers aren't bad either just a little light like other eldar skimmers.

I think all of them have a 4+ cover standard, 2+ when evading.
