Hey everyone!

So as if I have not said it enough in every post I say, Project One Gaming is all about helping out the War Gaming community. With the holiday season coming up on us quickly, we are going to be starting a few deals, but we need help. Here is our idea:

We are going to make pre built rosters and sell them for “X” amount of dollars. So what I mean is say we set the bar at 1800 points, what we want to do is make a preset list for every army so people would say “I want the grey knight list” or “I want the ork list” so then we would build that list for the client for a fixed cost.

Remember our projects are just about the price of retail, but we build them for you. We also paint and will help source out bits so we can do conversions, or get nice bases ect, so that’s why we say “about” the price of retail.

So anyways…. We would like to get some ideas as to what people would like to see. We are even open to doing 2 rosters an army. So maybe one style is a tank heavy and set two is more infantry styled. Hope that makes sense. Let us know what you think.

Thanks everyone!

D

That is a terrible idea.

Warhammer 40K is all about the freedom of picking your own units that you want in your army. Having preset lists just kills that. Who would honestly wants a generic built list?

182nd Ebon Hawks - 2000 Points
"We descend upon them like lightning from a cloudless sky."

Va'Krata Sept - 2500 Points
"The barbarian Gue'la deserve nothing but a swift death in a shallow grave."

What exactly is the point? You aren't going to be selling all of the lists for the same price since an 1800 point list has a completely different price depending on the army, and I'm not really sure how offering a preset list is really helping anyone when it's so easy to write up your own list and ask for a price quote.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Your both right, it is very easy for someone to make a list and ask us “how much?” But people don’t. Many people who are looking around (and I was one before) don’t like the unknown and it will push them away even before they ask. Doing something like this is just like buying a starter set, you know exactly what you are getting and there is a fixed price tag on it.
I get that different armies or different builds would be different costs, but the idea is to get the community involved in helping out and making competitive lists. One of my staff got into tyranids when he started out. He bought anything and everything because he did not know better. Unfortunately some people don’t have well established gamming communities or don’t really know about forums like this until later down the road, so again this is just one way a person could get that help off the start. And there is nothing saying that if someone sees a list, and would like to change it slightly that they cant ask to make that change you know? Its all about showing someone a number and taking it from there and giving them an idea of what a “good” build would be. Hope that makes sense
