No.

It's only one core, two specials, one hero and a Lord. It's an incredibly unbalanced army and illegal army.

The biggest indicator someone is a loser is them complaining about 3d printers or piracy.

I'd have to buy archers or spearmen to make it legal would I?

My Wife and I picked up the box set for christmas last year.

I got her some more horsemen through ebay to bulk out the unit some more and then got her a battalion on top for her Birthday.

Probably the best way of doing it as it gets you a decent sized legal army pretty quickly.

IoB elves are for the most part a terrible selection.

The mage is cool, the SM's are cool, the Sea Guard are meh(cool models, mediocre unit).

The reavers and Griffon are useless in the current army book. Again cool models, terrible units.

For a starter army I'd say do IoB for the 3 good units, and a battalion+ General/BSB box. That would be a good starting point. With those you could make a small legal army that would perform well enough to start.

Not only is the Griffon riding Prince a useless unit, you actually need almost 4 times the points in the boxed set to legally field him.

Best way to use the Griffon Prince: just proxy it as a Noble on a great eagle (model detail is great, no model exists for it, and it has the same base size). Give him a great weapon, armor of caledor, and guardian phoenix, and he is a pretty fun unit to use at low points levels.
