My friends are I are just getting into Flames of War late war. I have chosen to play a Soviet Tankovy force, but can use some advice on a 1500 point force. I have 10 T-34 76/85s from the plastic soldier company. I would really appreciate some advice about a decent 1500 force, and what I should purchase next.

Well, you are going to likely need more than 10 T-34 76/85s for a 1500 pt. Tankovy Battalion. Most of the advice for Tankovy Battalion is to max your T-34 76/85s (this will be 21 T-34 76/85s) You can play with making a list on http://easyarmy.com/ using the free list from the V3 forces book, However, this list is not optimal, as it lacks AA and Recon options, and it is best to have some of both. A better list is available in Red Bear.

Here is an example of a 1750 pt. list I was going to use from the V3 forces book to give you a general idea:


Headquarters

Tankovy Battalion HQ: 1 T-34/85 obr 1943 with Cupola= 85

Combat Companies

Tankovy Company: 5 T-34 obr 1942 with Cupola, 4 T-34/85 obr 1943 with Cupola= 530
Tankovy Company: 5 T-34 obr 1942 with Cupola, 5 T-34/85 obr 1943 with Cupola= 585

Divisional Support:

Tank Killer Company: 5 SU-100s = 390
Heavy Mortar Company: 6 120-PM-38 mortars= 145

Company Points: 1735

Like I said, it lacks any AA or recon, which you are going to want. The 20 T-34s can kill weaker tanks and overwhelm infantry, while the 5 SU-100s can kill the stronger tanks. The mortars are there mainly to provide backup and pin down infantry.
