Hello all,

I am new to fow. I played a few
Spoiler:
o
at my gaming club, and what can I say, I'm hooked!
Okay so I purchased an army on eBay and I have the Cobra intelligence book. I have the following stuff;
1 ss sturmkompanie box set
1 ss panzergrenadier platoon (the one with the three pak40s)
1 ss panzer iv box
1 heavy artillery platoon
1 ss pioneer platoon

I have the book, but am having a hard time making a decent list. What do you guys think is a decent infantry list. I am facing mostly American and Soviets.

Also, any other help for a beginner is appreciated!

Thank you all tons!

I used primarily Cobra to make my SS lists, it's a little dated now with the release of the LW compendium books but you can still have some good games.

My infantry lists usually look something like this

HQ CO & 2IC both with Panzerfausts and added Panzerschrecks (x2) - farm the schrecks out to the combat platoons

SS grenadier platoon, 2x Panzerfaust
SS grenadier platoon, 2x Panzerfaust
Pak40 Section (3x guns)
Mortar Section (6x tubes)
AA Section (2x truck mounted 3.7cm)

From there I'll add whatever I feel like using as support, sometimes I'll go with SS-Pioneer platoon for a largely foot army but the common choices are either 4x PzIV-H or 2x Jagdpanther. The latter will come in extremely handy against your Soviet opponent.

Sturmkompaine can be found in Grey Wolf. The Pak40s could be put to good use there with all that Infantry.

Check out the 17th SS PG pdf on BFs website

You can make a SS-PG company supported by 2SS PzIVs or an SS Pio Company.

Pretty much with what you have you can make a 1780pt list
Compulsory SS Panzergrenadier Company HQ - 1x CinC SMG, 1x 2iC SMG, 1x Kfz 15 field Car, 1x Motorcycle (45 pts)
- CinC Upgrade - 1x Upgrade CinC SMG to CinC SMG Panzerfaust (10 pts)
- 2iC Upgrade - 1x Upgrade 2iC SMG to 2iC SMG Panzerfaust (10 pts)
- Panzerschreck - 2x Panzerschreck, 1x Kfz 15 field Car (55 pts)

Compulsory SS Panzergrenadier Platoon - 1x Command MG, 6x MG (165 pts)
- Command Upgrade - 1x Upgrade Command MG to Command SMG Panzerfaust (10 pts)

Compulsory SS Panzergrenadier Platoon - 1x Command MG, 6x MG (165 pts)
- Command Upgrade - 1x Upgrade Command MG to Command SMG Panzerfaust (10 pts)

SS Panzergrenadier Platoon - 1x Command MG, 6x MG (165 pts)
- Command Upgrade - 1x Upgrade Command MG to Command SMG Panzerfaust (10 pts)

SS Light Anti-tank Gun Platoon - 1x Command SMG, 3x 7.5cm PaK40 (135 pts)

SS Panzer Platoon (2nd SS) - 1x Command Panzer IVH, 4x Panzer IVH (500 pts)

SS Pioneer Platoon - 1x Command Pioneer MG, 6x Pioneer MG (210 pts)
- Command Upgrade - 1x Replace Command Pioneer MG with 1x Command Panzerfaust Pioneer SMG (10 pts)

SS Motorised Heavy Artillery Battery - 1x Command SMG, 1x Staff, 2x Observer Rifle, 1x kubelwagen, 4x 15cm sFH18 (275 pts)

1775 Points, 8 Platoons

It looks like you could use some recon, a couple SS 8Rads could be paid for by dropping one of the 15cm guns and the 2ICs Pzft.
