So, Noise Marines got a reduction in cost in the new codex, at the expense of their mobility and flexibility. In truth though when you add the CCW back in their base cost only went down 1 point.

Since my gaming group agrees that Salvo sucks. They're willing to let me field Sonic Blasters with their previous assault 2/ heavy 3 profile. So onto my question. How much is Ignore cover worth? In the 4th ed codex no one I knew thought that sonic blasters were worth their points cost. Would adding ignore cover make the old version worth 5 points?

Maybe 8. I don't know that I'd play against it at less than 10 though.

Assault 2 24" S4 AP5 Ignore Cover just freaking wrecks half the armies in the game. It is not something trivial.
