Okay, so for the first list, take out the scouts, your army is fast, scouts with snipers aren't. Instead give your Baals HB, and then use the extra points if they are there to make a librarian dreadnought.

Second List: Same thing drop the scouts, add more assault marines, and the HB, Say you get a weapon destroyed without the HB the Baal becomes useless.

List three: I would take a 5 man tac. squad over the scouts. I would give the assault marines jump packs, so they get decent of angels, and put the tac squad in the drop pod.

Hope that helps some, I would say the first list is the strongest with the changes, list 3 would also be formidable, Baal predators can do a lot of damage fast.

I'm using the baals for a cheap assault cannon av13 wall? in a 1k I think I could fudge just the ACs but Ill consider it. I'm going to update the list now

If you're using the Baal's as a cheap AV13 wall, wouldn't Dakka preads from the Heavy support choice be better. For 15 points cheaper you get more shots, are still fast and don't get tempted to 'scout' ahead of what they're protecting!

Hell, if you really want 'just a wall' take naked predators and (over 3 units) use the 135 spare points to buy something tasty (like another priest for the other assault squad)

hey, I'm usually frustrated posting list at dakka since no one really replies.

They have specific forums for chapters. It's a smaller site but much more active community.

If you want cover you could always go with an Aegis defense line w/o the quad gun. This way you can deploy the ADL in an advanced position and jump to it in your turn for cover.

I am a big fan of your first list. Sold wall that can get you up the field and then send your jump troops over the top for an assault.

I didn't see the original list w/baals and snipers, but I think Baal preds with HB provide you with needed fire power. I have found the Jump BA lack decent firepower. Each baal gives you 10 shots and this really makes up for not having other ranged fire power. Scouts are a good choice. Your army may be fast but the scouts can sit on an objective. With cloaks they'll be getting 3+ saves in ruins and 2+ if they go to ground. I have found this very useful.

Storm ravens are also awesome and depending on your local game scene the anti air might be needed.

Ian, I really do want to include scouts in my list but what should I toss and from which list to incorporate at least 10 camo cloak models? I don't think 5 are enough

Well, you could drop 1 pred the Tech marine and the storm shield and that'd free up the 170 pts needed for the squad.

The Storm shield doesn't seem to useful alone. If it was paired with a PF then it'd be better as your sgt could stand up to a challenger that would ignore his armor safe and hit back.

Also I find SP with power axe's pretty good. 4 attacks at S6 WS5 ap2 is pretty nice for killing MEQ.

I'd also consider taking powers from the divination table instead of the codex ones. The primaris power lets you reroll all failed to hits for the squad you cast it on. This covers shooting and assault!

Storm sheild is a cheap martyr, he is bound to fail the 3-5 power weapon attacks that are usually accompanied with accepting a challenge and taking the damage potential away from the squad, and it keeps my priest and librarian swinging. How is that not worth it? Power axe is ap2?? brb grabbing super glue and my axe bits. I'm gunna revise my list in the next few mins. Thanks for the tips ian.

He doesn't need to SS to be a martyr. If you're using him to take ap3 or higher attacks away from the squad he's going to do this with or without the SS. Even with the SS he will most likely die just the same as the sgt without one.

The difference between 10 camo cloak scouts and how you have it now is 5 pts . Might drop a melta gun to a flamer so they can all take them. If needed you can combat squad to get the 2 squads of 5.

alternatively, you could drop the second scout squad and upgrade your HB sponsors to Lascannon sponsors if you face a lot of armor locally.
