Firstly the two 2000 point lists.

Basically, I'm quite happy with the Heavy Support and Fast Attack Sections in these lists, and I'm alright with Elites too. The thing which bothers me is HQ and troops so please consider these two slots particularly.

List 1, 1999 points, Noise Marines and Havocs

Chaos Lord: MoS, Power Sword, Burning Brand of Skalathrax
10 Cultists
6 Noise Marines: 5 sonic blasters, doom siren, rhino
6 Noise Marines: 5 sonic blasters, rhino
10 Chaos Marines: 2 plasma guns, rhino
Helbrute: Reaper Autocannon
Helbrute: Reaper Autocannon
Helbrute: Reaper Autocannon
Heldrake: Baleflamer
Heldrake: Baleflamer
3 Chaos Bikers: 2 Melta Guns, MoN, Melta Bombs
7 Havocs: 4 Autocannons
6 Havocs: 4 Autocannons
3 Obliterators: MoN

The idea is the lord goes in the rhino with the doom siren. One nasty rhino of marine death. Everything else is pretty self-explanatory, Helbrutes and CSM and the other squad of Noise marines take the mid-field possibly with the oblits too. Cultists stay in reserve and walk on to get an objective in cover. Bikers go tank hunting or open up land raiders. Heldrakes act as anti flier and toast the things in the lunchboxes the havocs open up. I am actually undecided about the Heldrakes' guns, and might change them up once I get a few games in.

Strengths: Autocannons, lots of autocannons
Weaknesses: Armour saturation, troops and HQ possibly a bad choice

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

List 2, 2000 points, Spawn and Khorne

Chaos Lord: MoK, Power Sword, Burning Brand, Juggernaught, Sigil of Corruption
10 Cultists
10 Cultists
10 Chaos Marines: 2 Melta Guns, Rhino
10 Chaos Marines: 2 Melta Guns, Rhino
10 Chaos Marines: 2 Plasma Guns, Rhino
Helbrute: Reaper Autocannon
Helbrute: Reaper Autocannon
Heldrake: Hades Autocannon
Heldrake: Baleflamer
5 Chaos Spawn
Tri-Las Pred
Tri-Las Pred
Tri-Las Pred

This list aims to take advantage of the cheap tri-las preds that chaos get. Also, the nasty amount of wounds that spawn have.

Strengths: Cheap las, lots of troops, mini-deathstar, plenty of armour.
Weaknesses: Spawn would be better with MoN but then I have nowhere to put the lord. Lord is possible overpriced, but I need something for my HQ. Maybe just a 65 point lord with the cultists....

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

List 3: 1750, Plagues and Havocs

Sorcerer: Mastery Lvl 3
Lord: MoN, Power Sword, Burning Brand
10 Cultists
6 Plague Marines: 2 Plasma Guns, Combi Plasma, Rhino
6 Plague Marines: 2 Plasma Guns, Combi Plasma, Rhino
10 Chaos Marines: 2 Melta Guns, Rhino
Heldrake: Baleflamer
Heldrake: Baleflamer
3 Chaos Bikers: 2 Melta Guns, MoN
6 Havocs: 4 Autocannons
6 Havocs: 4 Autocannons
6 Havocs: 4 Autocannons

I probably need a lower points cost list. The idea is that the two HQs would go with the PMs and those three units would take the midfield whilst the havocs opened up rhinos for a baleflaming death.

Strengths: Lots of autocannons. Lots of High Toughness
Weaknesses: Not many troops, not much armour. Maybe the sorc is pointless.... but they have got lots of nice powers.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other units I'd like to experiment with are Termies and the special characters.

Please give any feedback or thoughts you want.

Many thanks

Lunarman

No daemonic possesion? If the heldrake can kill fliers, its good but if it cant id consider something else like havocs. Ive heard it cant. All in all its rounded. I dont think you will have a prob with holding objectives.

What about night vision or search lights maybe?

I'm concerned about the heldrake. I can't see any good anti-flier in the codex.

Heldrake is d3+1 str 7, ap 3 autohits and the flamer and it's special rules.
Havocs are 4 str 7, ap 4 shots (so 2.64 hits on average) for 5 points more.
But the heldrake is always 2 hits at least, whereas the havocs could miss all 3. As it stands, autocannon havocs are still alright against fliers once they've nothing left to shoot, scoring 1.3 hits on average with an autocannon.

Search lights are included already.

I don't feel DP is worth is at all. More than a space marine for a 2+ chance to avoid stunlock, and stunlock is rare...

About the heldrake, its still the best option other then maybe forgefiend or agies defence line. Also it slaughters marines averaging about 6 a turn min. Just one good flamer is an entire dev squad dead.

Mess with the best, Die like the rest.

I like list 7. I have an affinity for nurgle and sorc.

I am starting to think that plague marines are the best troop in this codex.

Same price as before +1, and for that 1 point you get a knife that is better than furious charge for wounding marines. Nice
