A while ago, I had made a predator eagle.

this was a predator with two side-sponsons that were effectively anti-skimmer missile pods, I'm thinking of ways to implement them into 6th ed with flyers.

So, this is my idea:

Normal predator, two extra options:

Replace auto cannon for Leviathan auto cannon, costing 15 points

Leviathan autocannons are 48" S7 AP* Heavy 2 Skyfire, Airburst

Maybe 20~25 points for interceptor?

Eaglehook Flak missiles - side sponsons, 80 points

60", S8 AP* Heavy 2, skyfire, airburst

Airburst:

Flak by its very nature is an air-burst weapon in this way, it is capable of bursting close to a lightly armoured vehicle and damaging it anyway, but it is far more dangerous if it hits directly..
after rolling to hit but before rolling to penetrate, roll a scatter dice and a further D6. - if a hit is rolled, treat the D6 result as the AP of the weapon.

For airburst, I'm not sure why you are rolling a scatter die and a normal D6 when a non-hit does nothing (and incidentally, a result higher than 2 on the d6 also does nothing). I'd maybe just make it
"When firing against vehicles, roll a D6. The AP of this weapon is equal to the value rolled on the D6. Against non-vehicle targets, the AP is always -".

This gets rid of a lot of unnecessary dice rolling, and also specifies what the AP is against non-vehicle targets.

What he said. The scatter roll is completly unnecessary.

The scatter is representative of the relative inaccuracy of Flak. Flak may or may not hit, but either way it's gonna do damage to a plane. That's how it works.

The scatter represents it hitting rather than missing, maybe I'll make it 'on a 6 to hit, add D3 strength to the hit.' that might work better.

We can keep the AP can be 5 as standard.
