So Typhus can make cultists into zombies. The wording of the rule makes it look like you cant increase the size of the unit, however I think we can all agree that the RAI was for them to only not have the additional weapons options not to limit the unit size. That being said if a person were to make a list with large zombie squads using the RAI would you play them? Personally I would as limiting the squad size makes no sense. I hope that it gets FAQ'd soon as this is also the kind of army I would like to run. I have been planning it sense I heard the rumor of Typhus' abilities. What do you all think?

Yea definitely. As long as I don't have to make my army according to the codex rules either. I'm pretty sure my army models were intended to have a 3+feel no pain all around. Probably just a typo though and they forgot to include....

One reply in, and we have a smartass already. Try giving straight answers in tactics, you don't need to add the impression that you're a 12 year old.

It says no options. Until FAQ'd, this means no squad size increase. Quite possibly, that's what GW wanted (in order to limit such a cheap, tough unit from being spammed).

Dealing with them isn't "hard," its just annoying, as they are fearless FNP; give them cover, [make them go to ground] (EDIT: actually, they can't, my mistake), and you'll have a tough squad, only truly dealt with by S6 AP6 weapons that ignore cover. Or, of course, close combat. At 50 points each, however, they're a dirt cheap way of holding objectives, and as mentioned, they'll do it damn well. Just don't expect them to actually kill anything in cc.

Close but no cigar. Try again.

Actually no. Just another useless post by you. Edit: In fact, all you've proven is how much of a smartass you are. Congrats.

It's true Fearless cannot go to ground, I forgot that bit. Still, tough cheap objective holders supporting a wallop that is the rest of the army sounds great without increasing their size.

Cant take mark of nurgle and are not nurgle followers so no 3+ feel no pain from Epidemus for zombies.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

Reading the codex, there is a big bold "Options" and then under it, the ability to purchase more dudes.

So no. I don't like the sound of it, maybe that's not the way they meant to put it, but that's the rules. To avoid the bull-sh*t I would just take 10 man squads for now.

You might be fine just taking those ten man squads anyway... take four units of them and it's 200 points which is decent, and you got some cheap-ass units to be very annoying sitting on objectives. For the rest of the army you could do other cool stuff... even fit in some daemon allies... or dual org chart...

At least until it's FAQ'ed, i wouldn't go ahead with building/painting all those zombies until you know for sure.

I am planning on running one unit of non zombies to tag along with typhus, since he makes them fearless while he is in the unit they essentially become ablative wounds for him.

Until we get an FAQ I am also going to run two units of 10 zombies mainly for objective holding. A small unit like that is easy enough to hide.

People who stopped buying GW but wont stop bitching about it are the vegans of warhammer
