Hey Dakka, a local player here has taken to running dual flyrants + doom in a pod + tervigons at 1k points. He steamrolled competition at a friendly tournament recently.
My question is, how do you counter this kind of list with 1k points?
I run Necrons, and Only have 1 flyer of my own, don't own a ADL yet.
I was thinking of running my flyer, taking a court with str 8 weapons to double out the doom, and as much dakka as possible, triarch stalker to twin link my army against the flyrants
Gaunts and Tervigons are low on the priority list
Thoughts?

Edit: Flyrants are dual TL-Devourers
1 Tervigon, 12 drop-pod devourer gaunts

I'll assume he has 2 units of 10 termigaunts to make the tervigon scoring and that the flyrants are dual TL Dev.

The first thing I am noticing is that your philosophy is on its head. The tervigons are your first priority in everything but the KP mission. They are scoring and they generate scoring troops. Focus fire one one until it is dead and then focus on the other. Once that is dead then take out the termigaunts. He has no FA or HS, so in 5 out of 6 missions those are the only units that really matter.

The other question is why are you so worried about Doom. All Necrons are Ld 10 so if you keep your units spread out a bit he should only be able to get a few wounds if he is lucky.

As for weapons and units.
1) Leave the flyer at home. You need at least 2 of them to make any kind of go with them otherwise your just going to get shot down turn 2-3 with almost every army.
2) Gloom prisms: Chances are that the Nids are doing full on Biomancy and that list has 5 psykers in it. While you can't stop the Blessings it will help with the Cataclisms and Enfeebles that will be heading your way.
3) Tesla: Lots of tesla. You need to torrent fire at that list.
4) Leave the mech at home: 4 MCs mean that almost every vehicle will be dead, dead, dead... Really. Don't bring it.
5) Bring some challangers decked out for battle. His list has 4 MCs that MUST accept all challanges. Tool up some challangers that have at least AP3 and take all the fun necron toys that make challangers cry (MSS and Lab).

That is it just of the top of my head. If I think of more I will add in some other stuff.

Silver tide is a good option. Big blocks of warriors to take the damage that the flyrants will dish out.

Dirty little Nid secret. Keep in mind that the spore pod that the Doom comes out of is an MC and not a vehicle. While it can not score it can deny and it counts for linebraker.

Just keep in mind to win you just need to kill all his scoring troops and control 2 objectives in most missions to win. Even if he takes all secondary objectives that is still only 3VP to 6VP. I have won games with 6 models and my opponent had 1/2 his army still alive becasue my units were in the right spot and his were not.
