So, are Flakk Missiles 10 points if you don't want the other 2 missile options, or are they 25 points apiece? (mandatory upgrade to normal missiles to take Flakk missiles) I can't tell the way the rulebook is worded.

Past armies 4500 pts, 4000 pts 2000 pts
current armies Space Marines 4000 pts, Eldar 3000 pts

You cannot buy Flakk missiles without first purchasing the Missile Launcher.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

You don't lose the other two types of missiles. Flakk just up the cost of the missile launcher.

Yeah, surprisingly you actually need to have a missile launcher to shoot the flakk missiles. You cannot just throw them at the enemy flyers.

Pg 102, army list section; Options:

-Missile launcher
(with frag and krak missiles)........ 15 pts/model
*May also take flakk missile........ 10 pts/model

You purchase the flakk missile in addition to the others, not in lieu of.

Which is better than the original rumours of the havocs replacing the other 2 missile options.

Agreed. Between the Skyfire ammunition and Reapers only costing 10 pts, Havocs jumped to the top of my list for consideration in the Heavy slot. 156 pts for a unit of 7 havocs with 3 TL-autocannons and a skyfire missile launcher. Point for point one of the best fire support choices I've seen, with no cross-targetting issues. Wanna pop a rhino? Shoot a krak missile. Want to kill a flyer? Those reapers are twin-linked, baby, roll up some sixes.

Autocannon. Not reaper. Not twin linked

Yup. 25 points gets you the ML and Flakk. This is an increase of only 5 points from the previous Codex's cost for a Missile Launcher with Frag and Krak.

CSM Havocs currently sit in the middle of the pack for a 5 man squad with 4 missile launchers. It goes up once you add flakk, but no other army's Devastators or equivalents can get Flakk missiles.

I out with in both 40k and WHFB.

You want missiles and a flakk missile or two.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.
