I just got won a rogue trader era land raider on eBay! Since I also have a rebuilt 2nd edition rhino in my army, I think I'm building up a neat aesthetic here - and I believe this works well with the fact that I'm building a Blood Ravens army, and everyone knows how much they like to jack sh*t from other chapters and factions - but I have a question.

When I bought the 2nd edition rhino, I had to extensively rebuild it so it wasn't tiny compared to my other, modern land rhino. This was ok - so, it's a rebuilt old rhino, techmarines do that, and I think I did a good job - but doing that to a land raider would be... a lot harder.

Anyway, you're in luck - you can clear up my fears in a single word. Here is a comparison shot I found on the internet. Will the land raider I bought look like this?

If you're curious, this is what my new land raider looks like (unfortunately, no other models in the shot to compare it to):

As you can see, I've got a lot of kit-bashing to do if I'm going to add weapons to this thing... this is gonna be fun.

Yep, it should looks just like that! The weapons and add-ons were always so precariously fastened on and flimsy. Good luck!

I always thought the RT ones looked like they would flip over if they went up a steep embankment.

What I bought is just the chassis. I'll be making my own weapons and add-onds and fastening them myself. Magnets will be involved.

EDIT: Yep. I've heavy flamer bits - don't recall what they're from - that I can make into flamestorm cannons. I've got hurricane bolter kits from my storm raven that can easily almost as easily be landraider crusader hurricane bolters. I have a ton of lascannon bits - it's just a question of figuring out which ones to use for this project and how to attach them. And I just bought a razorback's twin-linked assault cannons, which can just as easily be slotted into the top of a land raider.

I'll post pics when the project is begun.

Finally got the camera back from The Wife to put up some comparison pictures for you. My old RT Land Raider once spent a summer day on the back shelf of my car, which is why it looks like it took a melta hit. One of these days it's going to end it's life as a terrain piece...

And some extra bits.

Is the OP worried about being able to play the old Land Raider? I'm confused...

To be honest, I'm not sure. But his first comparison pictures seemed way off scale, and the old RT pic was not assembled correctly, so I figured I'd toss a few pics up as reference.

Nope, I saw a similar pic about two years ago.
