Very nice, but the metal is too shiny, and the yellow hair is a bit too much. I think he should wash the entire model in black shade to add detail and high/low lights etc. Good paint job though, very crisp and neat, kudos to your friend!

if black is too much you can use a brown (aka sepia) wash on the hair. that might blend better with the yellow.
The rest a good wash in black would do wonders. remember though that you'll likely need to do some touch ups and highlighting after the wash has dried. don't be afraid, just add a little more of the color you painted before to the areas on the model where the paint is still visible. this will make the colors pop out, but keep your shading.
