I would like to give my terminator champion the ability to take on any other likely champion he comes across. Hence I will give him a power claw, and a power fist (losing the bolter is moot). Per CSM codex any term can switch power weapon for claw, and champion can take a power fist as a terminator weapon upgrade.

Now if I come across an enemy terminator my terminator will chose to use the p.fist's ap2 attack, and still have an extra attack for 2 specialist weapons. Or should I come across an enemy marine searcgent with a p.fist that will pierce my terminator armor, I will use the l.claw and also still gain the extra attack for 2 specialist weapons.

does anyone think this is a missinterpretation of the codex/rules?

I welcome it.
