This poll is for people who played both the original game(s) and the latest
version of the game. After having played both games recently, which will
you spend more time with going forward?

Kinda an odd poll. I don't think there is much of anyone that that played it back in the it's golden age goes back to play the old version now unless they want some nostalgia. the game is still fantastic don't get me wrong, but it's still an old game.

There are at least 2 or 3 people who still do play the older game, though, so far...

I picked "strictly new version" inasmuch as I don't think I'll ever play the old one again. Now, I hadn't played the old one for some time long before the new one came out so I don't think there is necessarily any relationship there.

Strictly newer one.
I liked the old xcom, but in order to not get destroyed all the time you had to reload saves near constantly. In the new one it feels like there's always a chance to win. In the old one you could get slaughtered on the ramp of your carrier as you begin the mission.
The new system just seems so much more fluid, and instead of controlling lemmings (I don't miss having to tell my troops that standing up in a firefight is bad) it feels like your actually controlling soldiers who know what they're doing.
I do miss the old outfit and hair combo though. The hair came back but it's just not the same without the purple spandex.

Shrug. The older version had some good stuff going on, but I've already played it to death, so ti'll be the newer one for me.

I'll play the old one again at some point. My last playthrough was probably a year, maybe a year and a half ago. Sometimes, you just get the bug.
