Simple question.

So I'm looking for a stereotypical US Army green color, what Games Workshop color is the closest when dried?

The US army green color from when they wore monochrome color BDU's from WW2-Vietnam is called "Olive Drab" or OD.

I've not used it, but from the online swatches, Death World Forest
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat800002a&prodId=prod1500028a
looks to be the closest Citadel Base shade.

Really though, if you want dead-on OD, consider just buying the appropriate color from a military specific paint line.
Vallejo has Heavy Green (146) or Luftwaffe Ca. Green (823)
Model Master has a standard "Flat OD" http://www.testors.com/products/573482
as well as other variations.

Well I only use GW paints overall, for consistency and accessibility. I'm painting up some Heroclix and wanted to get a figure painted up in army fatigues so I was hunting for the right green.

Thank you sir =P

My best advice to you is not to limit to only using one brand of paint, especially if that brand is GW. There is a huge world of choices out there and you are missing out on some awesome colors that can make your models stand out from the "only GW" crowd. As was said by previous posters, if you want authentic camouflage colors, Vallejo Model Color is the way to go. That line is designed for military modelers and if there is one thing they crave, it's accuracy and realism.

And some, I assume, are good people."
