I'm new to Chaos and am building an Alpha Legion. Trying to sty true to the fluff and not having any vehicles yet have come up with this, let me know what you think.

Battle Barge Impossible Fortress

I think it looks good, but I would trade GoM in to make all the CSMs Veterans to be true AL.

I think you need 30 cultists for 3 flamers

Is there a sky shield for the mot cultists to chill out on? As long a 1 member of a 30 man squad is on the sky shield all of the mot cultists have a 3++ invo v shooting.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

No they are going to run across the field soaking up fire and trying to get into hand to hand so my marines can take better positions until the cultists die. Thats why i gave the that mark, so they dont die as easy moving across the field.

I'd say that if you really want to be fluffy, you could take Huron for his ability to infiltrate
I hadn't the opportunity to read the CSM codex so I wouldn't know about the usefulness of the upgrades (though I guess MoN grants +1E) but I can only agree about giving them the Veterans of the thingy War status
I do like the concept ... can't wait for a Horus Hersy book about the Night lords by the way

List worked perfectly. Wiped out A khorn list, but lost to a Paladin list. The cultists survived both games and even destroyed an entire paladin squad. I am thinking of dropping a squad of marines and adding another squad of cultist they did so well.

Well turns out that they get 3 attacks on the charge and im running squads of 25, so that 75 attacks on the charge at full strength.
