Hello guys just popping in to say hi as I've finally taken the plunge and joined a forum after lurking in the dark for a while. Like a few other new members posts who I've just been looking at, I'm also a returning war-gamer. I started back at school most likely 1995/1996 when I got my parents to order me this painting starter set which come with a free space marine or something like that because it was advertised in the back of a magazine. Consequence of this was Hero Quest and AD&D before finally getting into Warhammer Fantasy which I played exclusively with a few close friends until I hit mid teens. From here I ditched Fantasy and got into smaller games like newly released Necromunda and then Gorka Morka which eventually ended up with me starting a Ork and Gretchin army. Anyway somewhere along the line it ended up in the loft in my parents house and about 2/3 year ago I was called upon to collect them so space could be cleared. Not being much of a hoarder I whacked them on eBay for some quick cash and forgot about it.

'The Return'

Can't really explain why but my wife was badgering me about my what I wanted for my birthday for a weeks and I was in a newsagents and a copy of White Dwarf caught my eye and I jokingly suggested she get me some models to paint. A few days later I returned to pick a copy up and was hey presto I was hooked via some good marketing ploy. For my birthday I got a few Space Marine things and some paints etc. I painted the squad up in the evening time once my kids had gone to bed and a new rulebook came out (6th) so I started reading through this and have had the desire to not just paint a few models but collect an army and maybe eventually play with them ever since. I ditched the Space Marine/Wolves which I had rustedly painted and picked up a few codex's, Tyranids, Chaos Space Marines and Chaos Daemons. I decided on Chaos Space Marines and quickly started to write a few army lists to then discover a codex was being released. So this is where I am now. I have a new codex and have quickly acquired some models via the Dark Vengeance set and some unpainted models via eBay and a new Helldrake thing and am about to write a new list soon.

Cheers for taking the time, Mick.

I do feel a bit bad for replying with a short response, but hey! Welcome to Dakka, enjoy the time you spend here, and let anyone know if you need assistance! (Nice introduction!

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.
