Alright Dakkadakka, who is you're favorite minor character from
40k? Maybe this guy gets a page or two in a Black Library novel, or he gets a passing mention in one of the Codexs, but you think he is absolutely badass. I'm going to guess that most of you will pick Ollanius Pius, the Guardsmen who "held the fething line" and stood inbetween Horus and the Emperor. Personally, I think Pius wasn't very smart. He died for a corrupt dictator he'd never met until now, who probably never knew his name.
My favorite minor character; Vraal, from Soul Hunter. Though Vraal appears early on in the book as one of the Atramentar, he doesn't really do anything until page 298. He's a semi-psychotic Terminator with twin-lightning claws who doesn't really have any friends. Of the Atramentar, the Exalted values him the least. So, when Talos tries to resurrect a Dreadnought that the Exalted wants to stay dead, Vraal is sent to stop him. Vraal knows that he's going to probably die, but he tries to stop the resurrection anyways. Now, here is an excerpt from the book:
Soul Hunter wrote:Yes, Vraal could almost hear his eulogy spoken now. The Exalted had sent him here to die, spending his life for the good of the warband. So be it.
Of course, this new plan to awaken Malcharion had to be put down with tact.
With nuance.
With subtlety.
Vraal's claws slid from the sheaths on his gauntlets. They sparked and cracked, wreathed in killing lightning.
"Brothers!" he called joyously into the vox. "Everyone in this room is going to die!"
