I thought I'd share this simple way to paint Plague Bearers (and all other things nurgle like).
This takes about 15-20 minutes per model not counting drying time.
Step 1. Black undercoat. Spray works wonders.
Step 2. Basecoat all fleshy parts with a dark green colour.
GW Caliban Green is good. This gives the model a sickly greenish skin.
Step 3. Overbrush all fleshy parts with a lighter green colour. I used
GW Warpstone Layer. Note that you don't need to be too clean with this.
Step 4. With a watered down light khaki highlight all fleshy parts. I used
GW Karak Stone. You should try to keep the green in the deepest areas and the lightest brown in the highest. Do not drybrush this step. Use traditional highlighting so you can create a transition from the green to the brown.
Step 5. Paint all bloody parts, such as mouth, eye, holes in the skin etc. with a red or other suitable blood color. I used
GW Mephiston Red.
Step 6. With a bone colour or an off-white paint teeth, horns, toe nails and other bony parts.
Step 7. Wash the whole model with a brown wash. This will help to create a transition between the green and brown. It also creates shadows to the red.
Step 8. Paint the sword and eye. I used black with dark grey highlights followed by a light grey highlight. I painted the eye yellow.
The finished products can be seen below.
ps. photo sucks. will take a better one when I have the time.
