Are Legion marines susceptible to fear and sweeping attacks? It appears that they are to me.

Yes, they do not have ATSKNF, to make it clear that the psycho indoctrination techniques at the time were somewhat lacking...

This is pretty thought provoking for me. This weaker mental conditioning really can help explain the fall of some of the Legions. Chaos preyed upon their fears to turn the Word Bearers and others after all.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
What else, besides ATSKNF, do we see the Legion Marines lacking: compared to Codex marines?

I think ATSKNF is the biggest difference, since the only thing they'd be "missing" (iirc, anyway) would combat tactics/red thirst/etc etc and those can be put in the same line as their legion traits.

Again at the time the Red Thirst was only just expressing itself - as the latest BA book shows. Certainly the geneseed hadnt deteriotated to the point it has now.

Combat tactics should be expressed when we get an Ultra set, as Roboute had already drilled this in from an early stage - to the point that, when the Emperors Children demonstrated greater surety in pulling off Codex tactics he was a bit miffed

The fall was explained by two elements - weaker psychoindoctrination and the sheer speed they pumped out legionairres. At the time they found Fulgrim there were only 200 EC left, yet by the time of Istvaan III they were up over 100k.

I was talking from a rules POV, only.
