Here is situation
Gretchin is behind AEGIS DEFENCE LINE and shoots at marines - do they have cover save from AEGIS DEFENCE LINE because gretchin can't see them clearly?

Can AEGIS DEFENCE LINE give any cover save such targets?

If the marines are 25% covered they get a cover save. This question comes up about twice a week.

But if target in plain sight and only firer in heavy cover?

IIRC you draw LOS from firing model. If from the model the target is obscured than he gets a cover save.

No, no one has said that.
If the target is obscured from the firing unit, the target gets a cover save. If it isn't, it doesn't. It's not that difficult.

Not true. Looking from their eyes to the target is all they need.

Cant you get clear LOS shooting thru the short points or view-ports-slit-things?

Giving a 4+/2+ go to ground save vs. just about every long range attack but barrage for a measly 50 points has to have SOME drawbacks/go-arounds I would say.

In the case of gretchin, they arn't tall enough to see anything on the other side of the Aegis line. On the flip side, this means whats on the other side can't see them. meaning you can't shoot the grots at all.

Marines, however, are tall enough to see whats on the other side, get the 4+ cover save, and not have the Aegis Line block their targets.
