Is it that al dreads are now mortis... Generic name?

I thought mortis was a pattern of dread.

Well i thought that till i saw he hellbrutes are also mortis...

Given that mortis means death in Latin, I guess mortis is a prefix like "sir." Perhaps mortis stanley is a space marine way of saying "stanley the dead."
