Hello! This is my first post here, so apologies if this is a bit abrupt. I've just gotten back into 40k after years and have expertly forgotten pretty much everything. Anyway, I'm trying to build a new CSM army to predominantly play against SM and Orcs. I've already got a few (appallingly painted) units, but I want to know what you guys think I should add.
I already have:
-8 Khorne Beserkers (don't ask)
-5 Havocs
-10 Chaos Space Marines
-1 Chaos Terminator Lord (I call him Terence the Terminator)
-1 Chaos Space Marine Bike
-5 Chaos Raptors
-1 Chaos Rhino (with a gun that is expertly facing the wrong way)
-1 Chaos Dreadnought. Or Dreadnaught. Whichever the hell it is.
Anyway, I'm planning on playing relatively small matches, if that wasn't already obvious from my pretty tiny army. Considering I already have the Raptors and the bike for a fast attack and I have the Rhino for carrying in my Beserkers. I usually just use the Dreadnought and huddle him up with Havocs whenever I have to fight a vehicle.
So, what should I get? Are there any things I could adapt to make this army better?

Well, I'll assume you have the new codex.
I recommend stocking up on normal chaos marines and a couple squads of terminators. Get some more bikes. One just isn't gonna cut it. Add some more vehicles if you want. this is good for a typical chaos army.
If you're into nurgle, get typhus, a bunch of cultists and plague marines. A nurgle army is usually forgiving to most players starting out.
Hope this helps. Happy wargaming!

It's a good idea to take advantage of the cheap points cost of regular Chaos Space Marines units. I'd recommend at least a squad with 20 marines and the Icon of Vengeance. Should make people say 'huh' in small games.

I agree with Brometheus to an extent. CSM's don't tend to stick around as much as Loyalist marines, even with Veteran of the Long War. Higher numbers helps to reduce the chance that an unlucky salvo sending you running. I don't recommend the Icon of Vengeance though. Canny players will charge your unit with something it can't hurt, knowing that your guys will have to stick around and fight it out regardless. Remember, you can only have one powerfist in that 20 man squad, and if you're charged by something with an invulnerable save it might take a while for your fist champion to get a good lick in. And because he MUST offer or accept a challenge, with I 1 he might not even live long enough to get in a single attack with that fist.

This may well be, but then they're spending a lot of points taking down a few chaos marines per turn while you have the off chance of killing their terminators through number of hits, dreads through krak grenades etc.
In small games there's not a lot of units that simply don't take damage. I'd be very worried about a single baleflamer or battle cannon shot though.

Of course you should fight fire with fire. You should fight everything with fire.
