Like basically reporting your own video game session? I'm not really familiar with the concept exactly, so if you want to give me a link to an example it would help me understand better.

If we are talking about basically just doing a 'battle report' but for you own video game, that wouldn't really be appropriate for Dakka. General coverage of like a professional video gaming event could work, but not just a general person writing about their own video game experiences.

That's not to say you couldn't post a fairly in-depth coverage of a game in its own thread in the video game forum, but specifically creating a thread to show off your play session wouldn't be allowed.

But obviously if I understand more of exactly what you're talking about I'd be able to give you a better answer.

I was thinking that it sounds like something people might do when they record themselves during a raid in WoW or a coop Call of Duty mission, and then maybe edit it after and do a battle report over that.

The only thing I could find on YouTube and Google though were screenshots of actual AARs from Call of Duty that just has the summary of the performance on it:

Seems like something that could get spammy pretty fast, but I could see a dedicated AAR thread.

Damn though I replied to this last night, clearly not.

Basically it'd be of a strategy game, one of paradox's either Darkest Hour or Europa Universalis III.

Like this if you're familiar with any paradox's game.

Basically first post is "I am playing as bla bla, this what armies I have, this is my tech", then updates a few years later etc.

That could end up interesting actually, like that TV show whos name I can't remember that used Rome Total War for re-enacting battles...

If I get the time tonight I'll make a "demo post" in here to show you the sort of thing I'm talking about.

It definitely is not simply a screenshot of my "score" and me bragging about how awesome I am.

What can I say, sometimes google fails me in a spectacular fashion.

Looking forward to the examples.

While I could definitely see that being an interesting read, it sounds more appropriate for a forum dedicated to video games (or a particular video game), than Dakka, which is a miniature gaming site, that does include a forum for video game discussion (as obviously miniature games like to play video games too).

Although if you do want to take the time to take a demo post here, I will certainly hold off final judgement until I see it.
