I'll be playing primarily against a lot of MEQ (Lot of GK's), Ork, DE, Nids, and a few Necron armies. I'm not sure if the Lone Wolf is worth it at 1000 points, or if I should find some room for transports? More Long Fangs maybe? What do you guys think? Any comments or criticisms are welcome.

HQ:
Rune Priest (Power Armour, Jaws, LL)
-100

Troops:
10 Grey Hunters (Standard, Plasma x2)
10 Grey Hunters (Standard, Plasma x2)
10 Grey Hunters (Standard, Plasma x2)
-510

Heavy:
6 Long Fangs (Missile Launcher x5)
-140

Elites:
3 Wolf Guard (Terminator Armor, 3x Combi-Plasma, 3x Power Fist)
-144

1 Lone Wolf (Terminator Armour, Storm Shield, Thunder Hammer, 2x Wolves)
-105

Total Roster Cost: 999

i would drop the lone wolf and pick up 2 more terminators. also i would make the terminators daul wolf claws or THor PF&SS because i think that terminators work out better when set up for close combat. But if you know your gonna be playing grey knights by all means set your terminators up so you can instant deat palidins because they suck bad. and i would honestly almost switch the rune priest for a wolf priest. but its all up to how you wanna play your army. i like that your not spamming long fangs and razor backs i think thats jewitry

Thanks for the comments, man. How should I set up the Wolf Guard to instant kill Paladins? And why the Wolf Priest?

Thanks again.

-PF and TH make your attacks str 8 which is double the toughness of palidians therefore they cause instant death on failed saves.
-wolf preist allows you to reroll failed to hit rolls
-a wolf priest with terminators with daul wolf claws gets to reroll both rolls to hit and rolls to wound
- Soooo 5 terminators with daul wolf claws with wolf preist get 20 attacks and you get to re roll misses and woundes and this would cut large chunks outta normal infantry
-PS man no problem man i love to see Space Wolf players who dont spam stuff just for the sake of winning.

I'd lose a fist on one and put a Storm shield. He can sit at the front and use the 3++ on ton of ap2 shooting that will find their way towards the squad.

If you want to run a Lone Wolf, chain fists are better. You can multi-task against vehicles then.

You're lacking mobility. I recently faced a wolf list like yours with only a LR as transport for terminators, it gave me 3-4 turns to just pound him out of troops choices until I won by default. Drop pods are amazing. If failing that, MSU with razorbacks still works well.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

I prefer for th LW the hammer for "more W enemies"

"Listen closely Brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime."Leman Russ

Would something like this be viable? Or does it have too few troops? I tried to find points for a Wolf Priest, but couldn't make it work.

1 Rune Priest in Power Armour (Jaws, LL)

Troops: Grey Hunters Pack (410 pts)
10 Grey Hunters Pack (Wolf Standard, Plasma gun x2)

Heavy Support: Long Fangs Pack (130 pts)
4 Long Fangs Pack (Lascannon x1, Missile Launcher x3)
1 Squad Leader

Elite: Wolf Guard Pack (347 pts)

If your taking vehicles take drop pods, mostly better then the accursed rhinos,
Example of Decent list in my mind
Rune Priest, with runic armour(or termy) and Chooser -130
(living Lighting and Jaws of the world wolf)
10 man grey hunters with Plasmas and totem+pod=210
10 man grey hunters with Plasmas and totem+pod=210
10 man grey hunters with Meltas+pod=195(For AV14)
5 Grey hunter with flamer=75(back board with Rune priest)
4Longfangs with 3 Rokkits-90
4 Longfangs with 3 Rokkits-90
total=1000

My purpose in life is to ruin yours.

FYI 2x DUAL wolf claws do not allow the rerolling of both hit and wound rather they allow you to choose which one you would like to reroll and then it gives you +1A due to both being specialist weapons.

As far as the list is concerned it is a fairly solid list. You are sorely lacking in heavy AT firepower (melta and lascannons) but at 1k points it is quite hard to cover "all the bases." Personally I would recommend doing 2x squads of 5 LFs with 4 MLs. This saturates the board with fire as you have the option of hitting 4 different units. I don't have the codex in front of me but I would try to run something like this:

Rune Priest

10x GH - 2x Melta, Power Weapon, MotW, Standard, Pod
10x GH - 2x Plas, Power Weapon, MotW, Standard, Pod
5x GH - 1x Plas, Pod
5x GH - 1x Plas

5x LF - 4x ML
5x LF - 4x ML

This should equal out to about 1k points (maybe a bit over). If it is over just drop the plas from the last squad and get a flamer instead.
This list gives you 2x drop pods on turn one. Both of these are packing 10 GHs. If placed correctly this will be very difficult for most armies to recover from as you can plan the pods to give your troops cover from the more deadly assault units. On top of this you have a third pod for reserves that you can drop on an objective if needed, otherwise you can use it as cover.

The other option would be to run rhinos and just stretch your GH squads to the middle of the board turn one, while this isn't quite as aggressive it may be a better choice in some games. My biggest suggestion though is to get out and try out different set ups with friends as there is no definite top list for SW yet.

Good looking list dude! Always happy to see a new SW player! here's a few thoughts though:
If you have you take 1 more wolf guard termie, he can take a Cyclone Missile Launcher and go sit with the long fangs.
Speaking of long fangs, I think another missile instead of the lascannon is a better use of points.
Rune priest with divination in with the long fangs = murder. all those missiles get re-roll to hit and some kind of cool buff depending on what you roll for powers.

For the price of the lone wolf you can get a whole squad of wolf scouts with a melta gun. These guys can outflank like no other and melta up their manticore/whirlwind/<insert artillery tank here>
This isn't always the best strategy, but considering your point values, they'll probably only have 1 large back-field thing and blowing it up will be very very painful to them.
Also, if you bought the box set, you have 5 scouts already

I like what you're doing with the wolf guard termie drop pod. I've used something similar many times to good effect.

Would taking single wolf claws with a combi weapon be a better choice for those slots then?

Any comments or criticisms?

I'm currently thinking about something like this for a Wolf Guard Pack

1 Wolf Guard Pack
1 Wolf Guard in Terminator Armour (Storm Shield, Thunder Hammer)
1 Wolf Guard in Terminator Armour (Combi-Plas, P-Fist)
1 Wolf Guard in Terminator Armour (Combi-Plas, P-Fist)
1 Wolf Guard in Terminator Armour (Wolf Claw x2)
1 Wolf Guard in Terminator Armour (Wolf Claw x2)

Are the claws worth it? Should the P-Fist be something else? How about Shield+Hammer? Thoughts please?
