Morning,

I would like to buy an army builder type program. I thought I read somewhere that GW told Lone Wolf to stop hosting game files. So GW may be putting out a product of their own??

Not sure if this is true or not. I didn't want to waste the money on Armybuilder if GW is going to put the kabosh on them. Any recommendations on a good program I can use for list building?

And no, I don't want to use pen, paper, and calculator.

Army Builder by Lone Wolf is not, and will not be, a waste of money.
You won't find a better program anywhere.

Battlescribe is good though and free

Excel is kind of handy if you are proficient in it (and is an important skill to learn if you are not - you might as well have a semi interesting project to practice on)

yeah, there are other programs but AB is by far the best... and only thing the GW made them is that game/army files are hosted on another site...

+1 for battle scribe. 100% free. Files aren't detailed as AB but that is easy to fix by some of your own time.

Plus it has iPhone and android support!

The first year you have the program it will have auto updates, so you won't need to go looking for them.

I can tell you right now that the 40k and WFB files are not going anywhere. The 40k files were adjusted to prevent such action even though they didn't need to. GW can't stop them as they are.

Army Builder is worth every penny.
