I currently have a space marine/imperial guard 40k army and an Orcs and goblins army.

Ive decided to go evil for my LOTR army and am thinking the Fallen Realms,looking for advice on the best options for a 500 point army.

Currently all i have are 10 Easterling warriors

I don't know much about easterlings, but from what I've heard, they're nasty as hell to fight against, so you're not going wrong by choosing that army

as for making a list, I'm not the expert here- last time I played LotR, there were two easterling models (captain and warrior)

Hi thanks for the reply,i would quite like to integrate some haradrhim or urak hai into the force as part of the fallen realms,any suggestions for this?

In my experience, uruk-hai crossbows are evil as hell to give you some ranged firepower- as for haradrim, that's another army I don't know much about, though they apparently also have some nice archers.

It must be noted that I have not built a list in some time, and I normaly play at 1000 p so some tweaking may be needed.

I'm not too fresh on those armies, but your lists seem to be running lots of bows, and shooting in lord of the rings tends to not really do much- are easterlings and harad particularly good with shooting?

Haadrim has poisend arrows, and beside bowfire is never a bad thing. I always prefer to wither my enemies with ranged fire whenever possible eraly

I'd probably ditch the easterling archers and run with either spearmen or haradrim archers.

Or just switch the bows onto the Black Dragon warband who has a higher figth and courage value. Beside it is my experience that 8 poisoned shots will be more than enough combined with the shots from the Easterling archers. As for using haradrim as your main battle line units I do not support that, since they are utterly rubbish in comparison with Easterlings. The only good option would be to run either Corsairs or perhaps half trolls

I'm saying run easterling spearmen or haradrim archers instead of the easterling archers because easterlings aren't as good at shooting.

Oh I see well pardon for being dense then. That is a good idea I agree on, but if running Easterling spearmen you are better of with using pike & shield since they can use both without any penalties

Aye, played my first game against them today- attacking a doorway with a dragon knight and two pikemen is hell- took Elladan, Elrohir and two spearmen to bring him down, and even then at a price...

Oh i know, Dragon knigths are always in my list, I have found they work wonders alongside a priest for that extra killyness! And I just got roflstomped by 1500 points of Rohan

my game I played ended up with Elladan, Elrohir and a lone dwarf against 12 easterling bowmen surrounding the castle tower they were in- the dwarf sat on the hatch, the brothers jumped off it and ran into some woodland, where their elf cloaks stopped them from being shot. We called it a draw seeing as I still had more points, but he had more men and we were pretty much at a stalemate, with no way to get me or me him.

back OT, the easterlings I faced were the guys who forced the draw- if I were up against uruks, orcs, goblins or haradrim, I'd have probably won. Those damned S5, D6 pikemen and that dragon knight killed so many of my men...
