I'm working on adding some Space Wolf allies to my Marines and wanted to make them a little more personalised than just using the standard wolf pack kits for my mainstay troops. The plan for the allies is to have a rune priest, 2 squads of grey hunters and some wolf guard to start with giving me a rather low model count and the chance to spend a bit of time focusing on each model as an individual. The original push to complete some Space Wolf allies came out of my conversions ofr the DV chosen into what I originally intended to be Sternguard but ended up more like Wolfguard.

I've done two Wolfguard out of the Chaos Chosen as shown below:

Wolfguard w/ Claw and Combi Flamer

Wolfguard w/ Combi Melta

When I came to work out what to use for my Grey Hunters I wanted a huge array of close combat weapons available to them to personalise each squad into similar combat disciplines, using the grey knight squad box as a massive bits supply I've removed the "power core" part of the force weapons and made up a Longsword (Bastard sword?) squad using the common weapon to tie them into a united past:

I think the project is going relatively well so far but would love to hear what other thought of the modelling/weapon choices as I work on them, the shown squad is literally just the 5 men with a single melta to be attached to a combi melta wolf guard and I think they look like they belong together currently. Since the Grey Hunters are detailed to have bolter, bolt pistol and CC weapon I'm hoping the sword dont break that rule in that they have become more a focal point than the other two weapons.

My next question was more in line with the next 8 man squad, I intend to have as many of them as possible wielding both chain sword and GK sword with bolters slung over their shoulders but I wasn't sure of this so I'd love some ideas.

Thanks as Always.
