I have a couple of old vindicators (the metal and plastic hybrid version) and an old rhino. I happen to be starting a Nurgle CSM force and was wondering i anyone knew of a good way or tutorial to resize them to the current specifications? I don't mind it being a bit crude since it is nurgle I can gribbly-ify them to cover any rough bits.

Those old kits will be really difficult to up-size to the current standard... Razor saw, plasticard, and patience will be key here if you really want to do that. It would actually be less work to simply scratch build new ones based on the old designs.

You say that I am crazy. I say that you are right!

i would just keep using them like that.
i have a new and old vindicator, and they dont look realy bad next to eachother i think, i just made the old one realy looking ''used'' and dirty, so you can see its a old machine who has gone through a lot
hell, i've even put number 1 on the old ones front , and 2 on the new ones front, so its like the 2nd vindicator my great company had aquired!

and i think the old one has its charms like this

The old ones also add flavor to your army. Perhaps even being the very vehicles that fought in the Heresy.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

I have a fair amount of nostalgia for the old tanks. With the 40k fluff of things having various patterns made on different forge worlds and repaired and retrofitted over the mellenia there's no real reason you couldn't have the old tanks and new ones in the same army. If they're suitably nurlgefied they will fit will together.

Also on a TFG note the smaller footprint will make them a smaller target for shooting and ever so slightly easier to get cover saves.

Frankly, I would rather trade you perfectly new Vindicators on sprue for the old ones rather than see the old ones torn up. Seriously, kinda.

For the origional vs new rhino chassis, I use the new models for transports (rhino and razor) and the older ones for preds vindys and whirls. The fluff is that you don't need that much headspace when there's 4 people in the tank than 12.

However, I highly recommend you keep the tanks the way they are.

Conduct While Gaming
While rolling a die, do not say, “Anything but a 1!” unless you wish the die to come up as 1. Any other such attempts to anger the “Dice Gods” will result in the existential equivalent of continuously flipping a coin and having it come up heads every time (for reference, see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). Your dice will be cursed to roll ones for everything other than morale checks, which will come up sixes.

ORK PLAYERS HAVE A LIMIT OF 1 SCREAMS OF WAAAAAAGH PER HOUR. violators will be forced to play tau.

Players with chimeras and las weapons shall pronounce chimera ki-mere-uh, not chim-ere-uh. Violators will be forced to play nothing but world eaters. Non-40k personnel must purchase and build a chimera.

If you (or your opponents) are really concerned about the old rhino's slightly smaller size (maybe 1cm length at the most, and less for the height and width?), I'd suggest a better solution would be to bulk up the hull with stowage (e.g. ammo boxes or fuel drums) or extra armour, and explain to opponents why and that the extra bits count as part of the hull for rules purposes.

But if you are determined to biggify your rhino, you do at least have the advantage of being Nurgle - slice the hull just about anywhere (avoiding the roadwheels), add some bracing and strips of plasticard to make it the desired new dimensions, then hid your surgery by greenstuffing the resulting hull all over to look rotting and rusting

Hmm... I will have to think on this more. Splitting down the middle and widening them might be an idea... However they are 'pre heresy' so I guess it works for tha as well...
