I just used some Reaper modeling putty for the first time, but I think my batch might have been a bit old. It was like trying to knead a Tootsie Roll, and when it finally softened up, it was incredibly sticky. Is that normal? If so, any tips on better control over molding it?

Use some lubricant like water to make it not stick to your tools.

Knead the putty after getting it wet and if it dries out, get it wet again!
